Spring fishing

Greetings and Happy Spring from Minnewaukan, North Dakota!

April is an exciting time here at Spirit Water Inn Resort. There are anglers still fishing on the ice. Some are fishing from shore in the open water and others are launching small boats by the culverts, coulees and bridges. It will be a while until we can officially declare “Ice Out”, but fishing season never closes here in North Dakota. Be sure to check out the new photos of Devils Lake spring fishing on our homepage.

April is still our “peaceful season”, with rates 10% lower than summertime. Our special offer for returning guests continues through the end of April. If you book two nights, we will give you the third night free.

We have been busy sprucing up the cottages this winter. The Water Tower Cottages are getting new paint and some spiffy new shutters to make them look sharp for the season ahead. We believe we offer the most spacious, comfortable and clean cottages on the lake. Our location here on the western shore of Devils Lake is just ideal. We have convenient boat landings that give you easy access to some of the best fishing on the lake. There’s a state-of-the-art fish cleaning station right next to the office and Randy’s Bait Shop. You can buy groceries and gas at Odden’s Grocery, enjoy a meal a Miller’s Pub or some liquid refreshment at Dakota Spirits. There’s a playground for the kids and plenty of wide open spaces for you city folks to enjoy.

The skies, fields and waters are filled with wildlife as the weather warms and spring renews the earth.
